What a wonderful 4 day weekend. Most of it was spent up in Wenatchee, WA for this year's Oktoberfest. Sausages were excellent, apricot beer was excellent. Veerry good wine tasting too. The select few of my friends from work that I actually like to hang around came up with Marla and me. There was a nice house, good conversation, and backyard fires for smores. It was a very relaxing, very scenic weekend.

Unfortunately, weekends must end, and my job still sucks. This week I'm supposed to get my platoon. Only time will tell if I do or not. If I don't, and I'm kept up at staff, I'll ask to be relieved from the duty of training all of the MGS platoons - there's no way a staffer should be tasked with that kind of duty if he's not actually going to be down in the line with the men, in charge of them.

I tried making sourdough waffles like my pappy-in-law, and unfortunately it didn't turn out right. They didn't crisp on the outside, and turned out dry. Mr. W, any suggestions as to what I did wrong?
